Herdsmans Lake Wildlife Walk

- Meet at Herdsman Lake Discovery Centre carpark, Flynn St & Selby St, Perth Western Australia 6018

Lush wetlands and a symphony of bird calls define the Herdsman Lake circuit, a tranquil escape tucked away in Perth's inner suburbs. As you navigate the perimeter of the lake, you’ll wander through diverse landscapes ranging from open water vistas to shaded paperbark forests.

The trail consists of a mix of flat gravel and bitumen paths that are easy to follow and generally level. There is plenty of shade to keep you cool on a warm arvo, though it is worth noting that public toilets and rubbish bins are scarce around the loop, so plan accordingly.

It is an easy, flat walk, around the Herdsman Lake. It can take a couple of hours to walk around the Lake.

Bring snacks, lunch, water, first aid kit, good enclosed walking shoes, sunscreen, hat or raincoat, depending on the weather.
